Nada Surf Unveil Fall Tour

After supporting presidential candidate Barack Obama at Denver’s, er, unconventional convention party alongside Ben Gibbard and Zooey Deschanel, among others, Nada Surf frontman Matthew Caws is now gearing up to lead the Brooklyn-based trio across the country this fall, touting their latest album, Lucky.

Starting with an acoustic set in New York City November 9, the outing will continue with a gig in Mexico City Nov. 11, before heading stateside and stopping in cities across the Midwest, with the Delta Spirit and the Jealous Girlfriends opening select shows. The 13-date (it’s the band’s Lucky number, perhaps?) tour will wrap with a handful of dates across the Eastern Seaboard, including a two-night stand in New York. Check out the complete route below.

And while we await the band’s tour, fans moonlighting as videographers should take note, for Nada Surf are seeking video submissions for “Weightless,” the third single off Lucky. Head to the band’s MySpace page to stream the track and be sure to submit your video via YouTube before the Sept. 19 deadline. The first place winner, selected by the band and label Barsuk, will be rewarded $3,000, while second and third place winners will receive a Nada Surf vinyl boxset and other goodies.
