This week: Jesse “Boots Electric” Hughes, co-founder of Eagles of Death Metal with longtime pal Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age). On September 20, Hughes will release Honkey Kong, his solo debut under the moniker Boots Electric.

FAVORITE SONG:
“‘Right Down the Line’ by Gerry Rafferty or ‘Top Billin’ by Audio Two. ‘Right Down The Line’ is one of the sweetest and most beautifully produced songs ever, and ‘Top Billin’ gets the asses shakin’.”

FAVORITE ALBUM:
“The soundtrack to Sweatin to the Oldies by Richard Simmons. My mom and her hot cougar friends would work out to this in their hot one-piece leotards. I would hide and watch!”

FAVORITE MOVIE:
Back to the Future 3, 1, and 2, in that order. 3 is the best because of the ZZ Top cameo.”

FAVORITE BOOK:
“The Holy Bible, King James Edition.”

FAVORITE PIECE OF MUSICAL GEAR:
“My Maton BB 1200. Some of my greatest moments were recorded with that guitar, which was a gift from my best friend, Baby Duck, a.k.a. Josh Homme.”

FAVORITE PET:
“My precious all black kitten, the outlaw Josey Wales, because she was a gift from my immortal beloved, the porn star Tuesday Cross.”

FAVORITE MANTRA/QUOTE/PIECE OF ADVICE:
“Cabbages… knickers… it’s not got a beak!” from Clockwork Orange.”

FAVORITE PICK-UP LINE:
“I’ve got an eleven inch tongue and can breathe through my ears.”

FAVORITE JOKE:
“How many residents of Silverlake (or insert another hipster neighborhood here) does it take to screw in a light bulb? The number is too obscure, you wouldn’t understand.”

FAVORITE DRUG:
Mathamphetamine because it allows you to do the math that can calculate the formula to travel to the future.”
