Muse Accidentally Reveal Austin City Limits’ Headliners

muse, austin city limits 2013

The lineup for this year’s Austin City Limits Music Festival won’t be made public until May 7, but Muse recently let slip that they’ll be headlining the annual showcase, which takes place across two weekends this fall (from October 4 to 6 and October 11 to 13).

As Consequence of Sound points out, the stadium rockers revealed the news during an interview with Montreal radio station CHOM 97.7. While laying out the band’s tour plans for 2013, frontman Matthew Bellamy said that Muse will cap off their slate of upcoming North American dates by heading down to Austin’s Zilker Park to again top the bill at ACL (the English trio previously headlined the festival’s 2007 and 2010 editions).

Before that, though, The 2nd Law makers will tour Europe, stop by Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival, and take a detour to Brazil’s Rock in Rio festival while they trek through parts of the U.S.

To witness the ACL gig confirmation, head here and skip to the 32:04 mark. And if you haven’t seen Muse’s accidentally offensive video for “Panic Station,” check it out here — it’s got cross-dressing, spandex leggings, and a cartoon T-Rex dancing in a conga line. The handjob has since been edited out.
