Milky Chance Turn ‘Wrecking Ball’ Into an Unintelligible Slow Jam

Milky Chance, SiriusXM, Wrecking Ball, Miley Cyrus

German folk-pop duo (and recent SPIN Album of the Week recipients) Milky Chance stopped by the SiriusXM studios the other day to offer their spin on Miley Cyrus’ chart-topping 2013 smash “Wrecking Ball.” Unsurprisingly, their spin involved a lot of acoustic guitar and poorly enunciated lyrics on the part of singer Clemens Rehbein, and what looks like (but probably isn’t actually) a tree stump used for percussion by DJ Philipp Dausch. The end result lands pretty firmly in Jason Mraz territory, though as usual, Rehbein sounds slurry and non-earnest enough that it still comes off as woozy and kinda charming.

Watch the cover above, and look out for Milky Chance at a venue near you on their first North American tour next year.
