Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears Are Too Naked for French TV

Don’t expect Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” to crash onto French daytime television any time soon. The New York Times reports that the Conseil Superieur de l’Audiovisuel, the organization that lords over French broadcasting, has pretty much banned the fleshy visual from airing during the day and evening.

The council has also blacklisted Britney Spears’ whips-and-chains-filled video for “Work Bitch.” Both clips have reportedly played during daytime programs, sometimes with a warning that they’re inappropriate for children under the age of 10, sometimes without a warning. But according to the group’s recent ruling, a simple heads-up is not enough to protect French children from Miley’s Hall of Shame-honored behavior or Britney Jean‘s “sadomasochistic universe.”

Because “Wrecking Ball” contains “scenes of a sexual nature” and “Work Bitch” is “likely to shock many viewers,” neither video can be shown before 10 p.m. Stay tuned for the inevitable freakout over Miley’s masturbatory “Adore You” video.
