Mikal Cronin killed on Conan last night (July 16), delivering a show-stealing rendition of "Change," one of the many fuzz-pop highlights off his Essential sophomore album, MCII. As if his cathartic six-string freakouts and hooky lyrics weren't enough to impress, the Bay Area garage hero filled out his four-piece live band with a string section. Halfway through the performance, Cronin defers to his guests, allowing for a brief pause and a tense, cleansing coda. "Just a little bit goes a long way," Cronin sings on the tune. He's right, but a little more goes even further.
