MGMT tend to go grand on camera. Their music videos either pack in oddball imagery at a steady clip (see the bizarre, restless "Your Life Is a Lie" short) or pull in esteemed actors from HBO's call sheet ("Cool Song No. 2" stars Boardwalk Empire's Michael K. Williams). The eccentricities usually carry over to the band's late-night television appearances, too: Take for example the scuba gear-enhanced guest spot on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. But that wasn't the case when MGMT beamed onto Later... With Jools Holland. Led by core members Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden, the six players turned in a solid, if straightforward, performance of "Your Life is a Lie" from the band's self-titled third album. Gone were the star-shaped glasses and giant cowbell of MGMT's Late Show With David Letterman appearance. Watch it above.
