Brooklyn psych rockers MGMT have added new U.S. tour dates as their worldwide trek in support of this year’s Congratulations — one of the 20 Best Albums of 2010, So Far — chugs along.

The band will play eight cities in the Southeast in late October and early November, beginning October 25 in Orlando, Florida, and wrapping November 4 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, the famous former home of the Grand Ole Opry.

The mini-tour also includes an October 29 stop at Asheville, NC’s MoogFest, a three-day tribute to the work of music technologist Robert Moog (of Moog synthesizer fame) that also features Massive Attack and Thievery Corporation as headliners. A full lineup announcement for MoogFest is due July 27.

MGMT play Los Angeles’ Greek Theater tonight, as their current North American tour works its way across the country to an August 8 appearance at Chicago’s Lollapalooza and two nights at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall, on August 17-18. Aside from these newly announced dates, the band will spend much of the fall and winter touring abroad. Click here for full dates.
