Recently, Metallica, the heavy metal band whose last album St. Anger won them a Grammy, announced that they will guest star on the popular animated series, The Simpsons. Set to air on Sept. 10, the show’s season premiere finds Metallica joining the illustrious roster of rock stars who have also appeared in animated form on the show like the Rolling Stones, U2, REM, 50 Cent, Paul McCartney, Smashing Pumpkins, and the Who. Also scheduled to join the show later this season is everyone’s favorite peppermint colored duo, the White Stripes.
