Courtney Love recently revealed plans to enlist bassist Melissa Auf der Maur to revive ’90s alt-rock band Hole behind the release of her long-delayed album, Nobody’s Daughter. Problem is, Auf der Maur remains in the dark about what this reunion might actually entail.

“I don’t know what to say about [the situation],” Auf der Maur told music site ExploreMusic. “I’m a little confused as to what the plan with that is. All I can tell you is that I like singing ooos, ahs, and la-la-las behind her voice.”??

She also revealed that she and Love had been out of communication until recently, and that producer Michael Beinhorn (who worked on Hole’s 1998 album Celebrity Skin) — not Love — had directly asked her to contribute.

“We’ve been in touch this year after ten years of no contact, I will say that,” she said of her relationship with Love. “I feel a soul-sister connection with Courtney.”

So, is this a reunion or what? According to Auf der Maur, it’s still pretty murky. “I think you can’t take a Hole reunion thing that lightly,” she said. “It’s gonna take a little more organizing than just ‘I’ll come and sing some backups and then we got Hole.'”
