Hey, This Is Awesome!

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes Cover 'Desperado'

Exclusive! The cover band energetically morph Eagles' ubiquitous song into a pop-punk ditty.

San Francisco-based cover band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are no strangers to turning classics from the likes of John Denver and Neil Diamond into fun skate-punk staples, and now the group, which features members from pop-punk mainstays NOFX and Lagwagon, are tackling Eagles' "Desperado," imbuing the sweetly strummed plaint with urgency and enthusiasm. The band's new album, Love Their Country (out Oct. 17), also features covers of Willie Nelson's "On The Road Again," Dolly Parton's "Jolene," Hank Williams' "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," as well as new rollicking renditions of other country classics.
