Mark Hoppus' Pick of the Week: We the Kings
Hopp on Pop
When he's not commandeering the stage as the boisterous bassist for SoCal punks Blink-182, Tweeting wisdom to more than 1.6 million followers, or handling album production duties for bands like Motion City Soundtrack and New Found Glory, you'd think Mark Hoppus would turn down the music.
Not. Possible.
In our continuing series, Hopp on Pop, Hoppus shares his favorite acts, culled from his incessant pursuit of all that rocks. (Click here to discover Mark's previous picks: British buzz bands Two Door Cinema Club and Mumford & Sons, folk couple the Weepies, globetrotting MC Uffie, and many more.) Check out his latest entry below, and come back to SPIN.com every Wednesday for Mark's next discovery.

The fact that there are a huge amount of teenage girls commenting on how much this band has "inspired" them and how how much they "LOOVEE THEM<3" just points out that this band is WAY too pop-y. First bad pick of the Hopp on Pop series. I say leave We The Kings to the ****ty radio stations of today..

You were right not to bother listening to them the first two times Mark.
You were also right when you said they aren't re-inventing the wheel.
I've heard some amazing picks from you before, some that you could say did re-invent the wheel. But this time Mark, all you've got is a flat.

I'm just a teenage girl, with a We The Kings poster on my wall,
but may I just say, their personalities shine right through their sound.
Not only are they clearly ridiculously talented, they are such humble
nice guys. I've seen them live 3 times now, and none of the shows
have left me disapointed. Travis manages to hit every single word, while
still performing with the rest of the band. These guys deserve mad respect.
I know that their music will continue to take them to great heights.
