When he wasn't pretending to be a leukemia-stricken girl, Ronaiah Tuiasosopo tried to get Internet famous
By now, you've heard all about Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the man behind Lennay Kekua, or the imaginary girlfriend of Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o. While Tuiasosopo remains in hiding since the incident, depriving us the opportunity to hear his side of the situation, thanks to YouTube, we can at least hear him sing.
In Deadspin's coverage of the Te'o scandal, they mentioned that Tuiasosopo was a Christian musician that plays in his church band. We also learned this morning that Ronaiah tried out for The Voice. And where do amateur musicians post their songs before attempting reality TV? The Internet, and that's where we found a treasure trove of Tuiasosopo singing. In the videos below, watch as Tuiasosopo uses those pipes that lulled Te'o to sleep every night on the phone on a variety of covers, from LeMarvin's "Thug Like Me" to Karina's "Slow Motion," plus some religious originals such as "Saved Again."
