Mainland Skate Through New York in ‘Leave The Lights On’ Video

Mainland

Brooklyn’s Mainland put their New York City roots on display in the video for “Leave The Lights On,” the lead off their self-released Shiner EP which dropped earlier this year. Filmed in the grainy style of a ’90s home movie, the clip shows the quartet skating down Eighth Avenue, getting kicked out of a Chinese place, and finally drinking tallboys by a sun-washed Hudson River. Though lead singer Jordan Topf sneers, “Living in the city, I get so bored,” with Julian Casablancas-like aplomb in the track’s bridge, the adolescent energy and colorful nostalgia of these visuals are anything but blasé. Watch the video for “Leave The Lights On” above, and catch Mainland when they open for Colourists and Field Mouse on June 23rd at Bowery Ballroom.
