Mac DeMarco Dresses in Drag for Gondry-esque ‘My Kind of Woman’ Video

Mac Demarco Drag 'My Kind of Woman' Video

Canadian songsmith Mac DeMarco first dresses up like a lady and then dresses down to nothing in the new video for “My Kind of Woman.” The lo-fi coaster of a single hails from the fella’s second album 2, out late last year on Captured Tracks, and it’s not the first time we’ve seen him take on a different persona. Earlier in the year, DeMarco moonlit as a wigged-out Mozart in the video for “Dreamin’,” and earlier this month he embedded himself inside a red-faced rendition of Weezer’s “Sweater Song” for the A.V. Club’s “Undercover” series.

The Alex Lill-directed clip above is musically far mellower but the visuals are playfully intense, calling to mind the work of director Michel Gondry. We follow our unlikely hero as he’s made up, man-handled, and stripped down whilst drifting through a junkyard full of colorful ephemera. Nice dream.
