One Man Killed, Another Wounded in Shooting at Unofficial Lollapalooza Afterparty

Lollapalooza Afterparty Shooting Nas

Two men were shot early Monday morning outside of the Chicago nightclub Bodi during an unofficial Lollapalooza afterparty that was set to feature Nas as a special guest. A 32-year-old man named Martrell Ross was killed, and a 21-year-old man was severely wounded, reports the Chicago Tribune.

According to a police spokesperson, an officer was also involved in the shooting. While officers were on their usual patrol, they heard gunshots and happened upon the scene, at which point “the officer engaged the subject and, in fear for their lives, one officer discharged his duty weapon at the subject.” The suspect successfully fled the scene.

Police aren’t releasing any official information about the cause of the shooting, but Revolt reports that the shooting resulted from an argument between security and a patron who was ejected from the club. The Illmatic rapper had already been escorted out of the venue by the time the shooting took place.
