Little Boots Wants Everyone To Know She Can Be ‘Pretty Tough’

Little Boots, Pretty Tough, Business Pleasure

A half decade after her U.K. breakout, Victoria Hesketh (better known as Little Boots) certainly knows her way around a fun, mysterious pop song by now. The second taste from her quickly approaching Business Pleasure EP, “Pretty Tough,” is a darkly hypnotic, synth-heavy gem accentuated by breathy “ha ha”s. Her vocals are vulnerable, but Boots refuses to be seen as helpless: “If I was so innocent would I be your prisoner?” repeatedly coos Hesketh, coyly implying that she’s a lot more knowing and in control than she may seem.

Listen below. Look out for Little Boots’ EP Business Pleasure, due out December 1 via On Repeat Records, with a full-length LP aimed for early 2015.
