I was hoping that 13 million ars would buy something better than this.
Sorry Axel...This music still smells like the 90's my friend. Im sure people will buy the album and make it number one..kinda like britney spears..but it still sucks..you would have had a better shot with these tunes 10 years ago.
Im not surprised the industry stroked you for your money..
You should have invested in something else...like say Dr. Pepper

Whereas Axl Rose can take 16 years to make a record, still keep his record label, after 16 years of having various studios on hold around the clock, and make it work. He’s finally put the record out and already broke a Myspace record. Who else could do that? Nobody.â€

I was very skeptical about listening to this album. I didn't want the Guns N' Roses name to be ruined for me but, regardless I listened to the record and true to what I thought I was disapointed. I expected an epic record after 10+ years, millions of ars, and numerous musicians. I found the record to be dull and monotonous. There was not one song that stuck out in the whole bunch. I found myself skipping through songs which is not something that I do. I love music I love getting a new album and listening to it in its entirity absorb every sound. For this album to be released under the Guns N' Roses name is a disgrace. True fans will certainly be floored by the fact that there is nothing Guns N' Roses about it except for Axl retaining the whiney voice that is legandary but has become less then impressive over the years. There is no collective sound on this album and that is the true let down.Guns had a sound that was specific and allegorical almost historical and that sound is nowhere to be found of the album. I am not saying this album is a bad record by any means I am just saying that it is a disgrace to be released under the Guns N' Roses name

First off, let me state, that I love GnR. With that said, Chinese Democracy is a big disappointment. With the exception of 2 tracks, the album lacks the ferocity, the whiskey-soaked edge of most of GnR's previous efforts. There is the feel of over-production to many of the songs, and really, how could it not be over-produced after more than a decade of tinkering? This album will appeal to those who enjoyed the more melodic, ballady side of GnR (November Rain), but it probably won't satisfy those who want the kick in the pants that songs like Paradise City or Welcome to the Jungle gave you. There are only 2 songs that even come close to that sound. Scraped and ...Bedouins come as close to sound as anything on this album although never really getting there. The title track is a near miss as well, but again suffers from too much production  I don't want the album to sound just like old GnR, but this album is not old Roses updated with more OOMPF, more like old Roses mellowed with age.  Musically the band is tight and fierce, but at times seems like they were playing with restraint, something you dont expect from a GnR album. Axl sounds like a smoothed out version of what he was in the 80's, but the gravelly edge is missing from most of the songs on this album. This album would have been better suited for release 10 years ago. Groups like Sevendust, Taproot, Dark New Day and Nonpoint have filled the void of anger, edge and wall of sound that GnR vacated all those years ago. A case of too little, too late.
