Linkin Park Reveal Album Details

News

Linkin Park, unofficial leaders of the nu-metal movement in the early '00s, have announced an April 30 release date for their yet-to-be titled follow-up to 2003's chart topping album, Meteora, NME.com reports. The new record, produced by control-board mastermind Rick Rubin, will deliver "more of a stripped down, classic-rock, and hip-hop kind of feel," frontman Chester Bennington revealed in a statement. Describing the album as "dark and spooky, poppy, and very melodic," Bennington declared his band is "straying away from a lot of the predictable sounds [it] had in the past [by] using vintage guitars and drums made out of wood and skin for a more tribal sound. It's definitely not nu-metal."
