In the midst of promoting her forthcoming album It's Not Me, It's You, Lily Allen has come to the defense of fellow UK songstress Amy Winehouse, claiming that the media's special interest in both Allen and Winehouse's personalities has damaged their public images.
"There aren't that many people with whom the press concentrate on their personality," she recently told UK newspaper Scotland on Sunday [via Gigwise.com]. "Yes, she does get out of her mind on drugs sometimes, but she is also a very clever, intelligent, witty, funny person who can hold it together," Allen added.
One thing many are predicting won't be "held together" in Winehouse's life, however, is her marriage toBlake Fielder-Civil. The latest divorce dish? That Fielder-Civil is seeking a million pound pay-off to leave the marriage quietly (read: without penning a tell-all book).
