Lil Wayne Goes R&B on “How to Love”

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV is one of the most anticipated hip-hop albums of the year, and after dropping a handful of cuts — including “6 Foot, 7 Foot,” and the Rick Ross-assisted “John” — Wayne has offered up another taste of the disc, titled “How to Love.” Head over to MissInfo to hear it.

The biggest surprise? Wayne ditches rapping in favor of some buttery R&B crooning. Over a breezy acoustic guitar and gtlichy beat, Weezy delivers a sympathetic ode to a troubled flame. “You had a lot of crooks, try to steal our heart,” he sings underneath heavy Auto-Tune effects. “You could never figure out how to love.” It’s cool to hear the ever-prolific rapper experiment in the studio, but judging by what he’s leaked so far, Tha Carter IV is shaping up to be one of the weirdest rap records of the year.
