Watch Lil Wayne Perform ‘Believe Me’ at a Floyd Mayweather Fight With Justin Bieber

Lil Wayne didn’t wait long to perform the live debut of his new single “Believe Me,” though he did so in unlikely company and an even more unlikely venue.

As Consequence of Sound points out, when Floyd Mayweather began the walk out to the ring for his contentious Saturday bout with Marcos Maidano, the strains of Weezy’s first single from Tha Carter V could be heard. It wasn’t immediately apparent, however, that Lil Wayne himself was present, along with some clowns and Justin Bieber, to escort Mayweather to the ring. Wayne and Bieber have both accompanied Mayweather in pre-fight walkups before, though this appears to be the first time that either has had new music to perform for the occasion.

Drake, who does some of the heavy lifting on the studio version of “Believe Me,” wasn’t there, but Wayne’s recently recovered charisma, and the fact that a lost looking A-lister stood at Mayweather’s other flank made up for anything that might have been missing. Check out video of the performance above.
