Hear Lemonade’s Frosty, Bass-Blasting ‘Perfect Blue’

Lemonade 'Perfect Blue' Download Ice Car

For 2012’s Diver LP, SPIN’s David Bevan summed up the evolution of Lemonade thusly: “Shapeshifting Brooklynites leave tropical-pop behind for frosty, synth-based slow-grinds where you can see your breath.” At the time, we couldn’t confirm the method of transit that the trio used to reach that chill destination. Thanks to the cover art for new single “Perfect Blue,” we now know: It was an ice car. Stereogum premiered this latest frozen blast, which comes complete with glacier-cracking bass, crystalline keyboard work, and the yearning vocals of Callan Clendenin, whose heart sounds more than a little frost-bitten. Along with the song, the band has shared a handful of imminent tour dates with more to be announced soon. Take a gander at those after the track, which is free to download, and be sure to bring your sweater with you.
