Lady Gaga has postponed four upcoming shows of her Born This Way Ball tour because she is literally inflamed. The pop star revealed the news in a series of tweets this afternoon, telling fans that she’s been diagnosed with synovitis, a severe inflammation of the joints. The affected tour dates include February 13 and 14 performances at the United Center in Chicago, as well as her February 16 gig at Detroit’s Palace of Auburn Hills and her February 17 concert at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario.

“To the fans in Chicago Detroit & Hamilton I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. Im devasted & sad,” she tweeted. “It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and Im sorry.”

The ARTPOP diva revealed that she’s been suffering from the condition for at least a month and has been keeping it from her staff. “I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened,” she wrote on Twitter. “I’ve been praying it would heal.”

According to Gaga’s website, the shows will be rescheduled. Fans are advised to hold onto their tickets, but refunds are available at points of purchase.
