Lady Gaga and Haim Slated for ‘Saturday Night Live’ Takeovers

Lady Gaga and Haim

Lady Gaga and Haim are both set to appear on Saturday Night Live next month. Mother Monster will work hard for viewers’ “Applause” on November 16, serving as both host and musical guest, while SPIN cover stars Haim will play musical companions to first-time host Josh Hutcherson, star of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, on November 23. The announcement came on October 31 via SNL‘s official Twitter.

Gaga’s upcoming shift of double-duty will mark her third appearance as a performer on the late-night sketch show and first as master of ceremonies. The live broadcast will follow the November 5 release of Gaga’s third full-length album, the long-awaited ARTPOP. No clue yet as to which track the singer will perform, but she’s got quite a stable to choose from, including the aforementioned “Applause,” the recently shared “Venus,” the R. Kelly duet “Do What U Want,” and “Aura.” She will probably keep her clothes on.

Haim’s impending trip to Studio 8H will be the sister-trio’s first, delivering a major publicity boost for the California girls’ Essential debut album Days Are Gone

Before Gaga and Haim take the SNL stage, though, Eminem will return to the NBC program to promote his fast-approaching eighth album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2. The Detroit rapper will be joined on November 5 by Scandal star (and first-time host) Kerry Washington.
