Klaxons Return to Studio

The London-based new rave trio channel "prog doom" vibes for sophomore LP.

While axeman Simon Taylor has been shacking up with CSS' Lovefoxxx, Klaxons bassist and vocalist Jamie Reynolds has conjured up a fitting sonic classification for the trio's sophomore LP: "prog doom." According to an interview with BBC's 6 Music (via drownedinsound.com), Reynolds claims the band is "already working" on the follow up to 2007's Myths of the Near Future, "which will have a 'prog doom' vibe." But the colorful rocker claims the band's handlers might not be too pleased with their forthcoming sound. "Our management wants us to make Thriller meets Dark Side of the Moon for album two." Reynolds said. "The way we always write is individually, we kind of have different parts, we are just building more fragments, and hopefully in the next few weeks we are going to make sense of all that."
