  • Kings of Leon will hit the road with Band of Horses for a 29-date summer tour. The trek kicks off July 25 in Orange Beach, AL and wraps up September 12 in Seattle, WA. Tickets for some dates go on-sale starting April 29. [Kings of Leon]

  • Chad Smith says the Red Hot Chili Peppers' forthcoming album will be out by the end of August. In an interview, the drummer says the band is still finalizing the tracklisting and title, although Anthony Kiedis told SPIN in February that they were toying with a working title of Dr. Johnny Skinz's Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head. • Lil Wayne has pushed back the release of his highly anticipated Tha Carter IV to allow the rapper time to add finishing touches to the LP. The record will now be released June 21 instead of May 16. "He's still perfecting a few things, he's a perfectionist...changing a few lines," Mack Maine, president of Wayne's label Young Money, said last week. "We have a little studio time and it should be done probably by Monday." [MTV]

  • Morrissey is in the final stages of writing his memoir, cutting the tome down from more than 600 pages. "I've reached the redrafting, trimming stage...and I wonder if 660 pages are too much for people to bear," he said. "And then I sit down and think, well, are six pages too much for people to bear? I really don't know, so I'm trimming." The Smiths frontman has yet to sell the book to a publishing house. [BBC]

  • Swedish synth-pop duo The Knife are in the studio working on their follow-up to 2009's Silent Shout. The band didn't offer many details in a brief post on their site, but they are expecting to release the disc in 2012. [The Knife]

  • Lonely Island — the comic trio featuring SNL's Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone — have revealed more guests for their new album Turtleneck & Chain. Beck, Santigold, and Michael Bolton will join previously announced artists like Nicki Minaj and Justin Timberlake for cameos on the LP, due out May 10. [Pitchfork]
