King Tuff Previews ‘Live at Third Man’ Album With ‘Just Strut’ Jangler

King Tuff Live Third Man Records Just Strut Stream

It’s not enough for garage rock hook-slinger King Tuff to have one of 2012’s best albums (King Tuff) and one of 2013’s best reissues (Was Dead). Now the pied piper of heshers is pimping a full-length 12-inch set recorded in Jack White’s Blue Room at Third Man Records in Nashville on July 13, 2012. Live at Third Man Records includes songs from each of the aforementioned LPs — including the recently video’d “Sun Medallion” and the ever-excellent “Keep on Movin’” — and is preceded by “Just Strut,” streaming below.

Speaking of strutting, SPIN recently spent 36 hours cruising San Francisco with the Tuffster himself Kyle Thomas and his bandmate Magic Jake. We also recently interviewed the man’s family to get the low-down on his first album, Was Dead, which was born a decade ago before the Vermont-bred rock’n’roller relocated to Los Angeles. The crunchy nugget below originally hails from that mighty fuzz-bomb. Pick up the 12-inch live set via Third Man Records, and visit the King Tuff HQ to get acquainted with the man’s tour dates.
