Sonic Youth's future is still uncertain since alt-rock first couple Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon announced they were splitting up late last year, but Gordon will soon hit the road again in support of a new project, Body/Head, with free-noise guitarist Bill Nace. The experimental duo, who released the screechy single "The Eyes, the Mouth" through Belgian label Ultra Eczema earlier this year, will play Brooklyn hipster watering hole Union Pool on January 26. Tickets are currently on sale for $10.

Gordon has kept herself busy since parting ways with the Youth, with a guest appearance on stage with Dinosaur Jr., some European gigs under the Body/Head moniker back in September, and a recent collaboration with Moore and avant icon Yoko Ono for the appropriately titled YOKOKIMTHURSTON album. The multi-faceted Ms. Gordon will also perform at John Cale's Brooklyn Academy of Music tribute to Nico next month, and will team up with drone dispatchers White/Light in Chicago on March 26 to close out the Museum of Contemporary Art's "Face the Strange" music series.

Gordon isn't the only Sonic Youth alum Nace has worked with — he previously paired up with Moore for an untitled 2008 improvisational album and the two indulge in formless guitar dirges under the name Northampton Woods. Moore released his third solo album, Demolished Thoughts, last year and unveiled his new band, Chelsea Light Moving, earlier this year. Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo also put out his most recent solo LP, Between the Times & the Tides, in March.
