Watch the Killers Giddily Do ‘Crystal’ With New Order’s Bernard Sumner

The Killers show off their U.K. influences as proudly as frontman Brandon Flowers dons his “Runaways” leather jacket. Last year, the Las Vegas foursome paid tribute to U2 and Oasis via affectionate, arena-sized sing-along covers of “With or Without You” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” respectively. And during a Manchester gig earlier this week, the Battle Born rockers were joined onstage by New Order frontman Bernard Sumner for a rendition of his band’s 2001 single “Crystal” (via the NME). The driving, rat-a-tat dance-rock song holds big meaning for the Killers — they swiped their name from a fictional band featured in the track’s music video — and it’s clear from Flowers’ jumpy, beaming performance that he’s stoked to be singing next to one of his idols, “the illustrious and praiseworthy Bernard Sumner,” as he puts it.
