The Kendrick Lamar opus too long for a conventional music video finally has a music video. Fittingly, it's part one of two. The 12-minute "Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst," a centerpiece of 2012's Essential good kid, m.A.A.d. city, exemplified last year's anti-attention-deficit trend toward longer tracks. It's basically two haunting songs in one, both reflecting on timelessness, but Lamar has separated them again here. Directed by Darren Romanelli, the first video — simply titled "Sing About Me" — intersperses footage of Lamar riding around his Los Angeles hometown with shots of a work by visual artist Eddie Peake. Stay tuned for the "Dying of Thirst" video.

Lamar, whose "Control" guest verse loomed large over rap in 2013, will be performing at the 2014 Grammy Awards ceremony where he is also nominated for seven Grammys, including Album of the Year.
