Two viral online memes have collided in a video that in a just world might put them both to rest. Kendrick Lamar's fiercely competetive verse alongside Jay Electronic earlier this week on Big Sean's "Control (HOF)" has had the Internet going nuts: The good kid, m.A.A.d. city rapper's claim to the East Coast throne and calling out of other MCs managed to overshadow a new Eminem single and continues to prompt lackluster answer tracks. Videos superimposing new captions on Adolf Hitler's words in an intense scene from 2004 European movie Downfall already numbered in the thousands as long ago as 2010, according to the First Amendment Coalition. Perhaps in the spirit of the recently surfaced Tumblr putting the Smiths' lyrics to Peanuts cartoons, the latest iteration of the Hitler meme doubles as a Lamar response video (via Consequence of Sound). Watch actor Bruno Ganz's Führer vent his outrage at Electronic, Big Sean, and the rappers named in Lamar's verse, all while trying to stay #based. At the very least, it's a whole let less self-serious than Papoose's utterly Papoose-like "Control" response.
