Katy B has always brought a pop glow to the latest chic strains of London dance music, but she has the vocal chops for a variety of genres. For BBC Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank's Christmas Party over the weekend, the On a Mission singer took on holiday chestnut "Sleigh Ride" (via Pitchfork), and she made the jaunty live arrangement her own, jazzily interpolating a bit of "Jingle Bells" toward the end. She also performed "Crying for No Reason" and "I Like You," both from upcoming album Little Red, arriving February 3 via Rinse/Columbia. Check out "Sleigh Ride" below, stream the full show on BBC's site, and imagine the styles Katy B might've nailed had she started her career in an alternate universe.
