Kate Bush to Release First Album in Twelve Years

Kate Bush, the British songstress whose overwhelming popularity in the U.K. never quite translated across the pond, will release her first album since 1993’s The Red Shoes this fall. EMI says that the new double album, Aerial, will be released worldwide on November 7. The first single from the album, “King of the Mountain,” will come out in late October. Kate’s never been far from the minds of her countrymen, though. Recently, the Futureheads turned Bush’s classic “Hounds of Love” into an ebullient rock delight, and according to a Kate Bush fansite, katebushnews.com, Coldplay’s Chris Martin said that his band’s hit single, “Speed of Sound,” was inspired by listening to Kate Bush in the summer of 2004.
