Kanye West can be as noteworthy a ranter as a rapper. Just in 2013 alone, he has ripped into the Grammy Awards, corporations, and Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie." He has warned the paparazzi, "Don't talk." And a voice that sure sounded like his raged against Taylor Swift's MTV Video Music Awards victory in a recently leaked recording that's allegedly from 2009.
Enter another one for the canon. The Yeezus artiste worked himself up into a thrillingly amped speech introducing Pusha T's upcoming My Name Is My Name at a New York listening party on September 11. In the video above from Miss Info, West casually mentions being under the influence of the "Goose," and sometimes his exact words are unintelligible, but his vehemence on behalf of Pusha T and the G.O.O.D. Music label comes through loud and clear. One quotable: "I don't give a fuck about none of these corporations, none of these fucking sellouts — this muthafuckin' Pusha T." The Clipse half's solo debut is due out October 8.
The relationship between art and commerce is ever a complicated one. Separately, West's rumored collaboration with Miley Cyrus on a remix of Yeezus' "Black Skinheads" has received some official acknowledgement. Producer Mike Will Made It confirmed to MTV's RapFix Live that West and Cyrus went right to the studio after the "We Can't Stop" singer's conversation-dominating MTV VMAs performance. "It's about done," Will said. "It's sounding crazy, too." And why not — this is Billy Ray Cyrus' spawn.
