Kacey Musgraves Serves Up Bouncy Taste of Upcoming LP With ‘Biscuits’

On her new song “Biscuits” — the first single off her forthcoming sixth (second on a major label), still untitled LP — Grammy winning country star Kacey Musgraves sticks with the homemade recipe that made her 2013 debut, Same Trailer, Different Park, so totally charming. Cowritten by Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, Musgraves’ track strolls along with a whistle and a banjo. “Pouring salt in my sugar won’t make yours’ any sweeter / Pissing in my yard ain’t gonna make yours’ any greener,” Musgraves sings with her trademark wit on the ambling cut.

“I’m very proud to be kickin’ things off with “Biscuits!”I think it’s the perfect preview to the record we had so much fun making,” Musgraves said on her website. “The sound of this song represents so many of the things I love about country music. And be warned — it may inspire a square dance.” Hear “Biscuits” below and buy it on March 17.
