See Judas Priest Atone for ‘Breaking the Law’ on ‘The Simpsons’

Last season, producers for The Simpsons showed off their musical savvy with an impressive list of guest stars. Tom Waits, Sigur Rós, the Decemberists, and Carrie Brownstein all went yellow for the animated sitcom — hell, Fox’s first family even weighed in on the “Harlem Shake.” Season 25, though, has seen less crossover with the world of sound. That is, until the January 5 episode, when Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford made a quick cameo to sing a reworked version of the heavy metal Brits’ 1980 hit “Breaking the Law.”

The reason for the parody? Homer Simpson has learned how to illegally download movies and the FBI mounts an anti-piracy investigation against him. Halford teams with law enforcement authorities, natch, and takes the stage in an attempt to throw Homer behind bars.
