The Juan MacLean and Nancy Whang Blast Disco Lasers on ‘A Place Called Space’

Juan MacLean 'A Place Called Space' Nancy Whang 'In a Dream' album

The union of Juan MacLean and LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang started off with a few team-ups like the playful “Feel Like Movin'” and the Valentine’s Day release “Get Down (With My Love),” but now it appears that the DFA cohorts are a full-time duo. As the Juan MacLean, they’ve teamed up for In a Dream, the project’s first official album since 2009’s The Future Will Come, and the first taste of the upcoming LP is the eight-minute-plus “A Place Called Space.” Featuring driving keyboards over a disco beat, the pair share echoed-out vocals with the occional cosmic laser pow-pow-pows tossed in. The song comes with appropriately psychedelic visuals that resemble the visualizer setting on your iTunes. Give it a whirl above and pick up In a Dream via DFA Records on September 16.
