Josh Homme Drops F-Bombs on Imagine Dragons and the Grammys

Josh Homme, Queens of the Stone Age, Imagine Dragons, Grammys

Imagine Dragons are waking up to some radioactive words from Josh Homme. During a Queens of the Stone Age show earlier this week in Houston, Texas (via NME), the singer-guitarist intro’d …Like Clockwork‘s desert-rock equivalent of a power ballad, “I Appear Missing,” by saying, “This next song is by Imagine Dragons.” After jeers from the crowd, Homme can be seen in the fan footage above deadpanning, “You know, fuck everything, fuck the man, fuck Imagine Dragons, fuck the Grammys, fuck all this shit.” Well, if you’ve seen U.K. artist Boneface’s 15-minute …Like Clockwork short, you know Queens take their apocalypses pretty seriously.

Homme’s Grammy F-bomb comes after a tweeted “FUCK YOU” to music’s biggest night from Trent Reznor, whose Nine Inch Nails were playing onstage with QOTSA at the 2014 Grammys when the show cut to commercials. Imagine Dragons also performed at the Grammys, and their palpable excitement at being there — plus an assist from some fearsome rapping by Kendrick Lamar — made for a pleasant surprise from the band behind stultifyingly serious 2013 rock hit “Radioactive.” Homme, meanwhile, is no stranger to taking shots at people. Just ask a recent Florida QOTSA stage-crasher. Or Jay Z, with whom Homme reportedly has made amends.

When not swearing at strangers, Homme is planning new music with Queens and Eagles of Death Metal.
