Jose Gonzalez Woos SpinHouse Live

The Swedish singer/songwriter hushes a normally rambunctious crowd in the Spin offices with his delicate guitar melodies and brilliant cover of Massive Attack's "Teardrop."

At the latest installment of Spin’s in-house concert series, SpinHouse Live, Swedish singer/songwriter Jose Gonzalez mesmerized showgoers with his beautiful acoustic set. Listening intently to every ethereal strum, audience members were strangely quiet as he delicately fingered his six-string. The sound emanating from the instrument was so lush, it was hard to believe there was only one guitar with him onstage. Still, Gonzalez’s bedroom-whispered croon somehow soared above his flawless, classical-fueled guitar meditations, especially on his cover of the Knife’s “Heartbeats” and his stunning rendition of Massive Attack’s “Teardrop.” JULIA SIMON
