To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s Nevermind on September 24, the band’s two surviving members — Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic — and the album’s producer, Butch Vig, will sit down with The Daily Show‘s Jon Stewart for a two-hour interview, where they’ll look back on the making of the classic album. The “Town Hall”-style interview — where questions will be fielded by a live studio audience and phone call-ins — will be broadcast at 8:00 P.M./ET on Sirius XM’s Lithium channel.

The event comes on the heels of the satellite radio company’s launch of an all-Nirvana music channel, which launches on September 23 and goes dark on September 28. Lithium — broadcast on channel 34 — will air music from Nirvana’s entire career, including B-sides, rarities, and live cuts. Musicians and celebrities will also have the chance to weigh in with their thoughts on the band.

As SPIN previously reported, Universal will also release a deluxe edition of the 1991 album in various formats (2-disc CD, heavyweight vinyl, and box set) on September 27. Certain versions of the set will include audio and video of an October 31, 1991 show from Seattle, WA’s Paramount Theater, rough boombox recordings, and “The Devonshire Mixes,” the album as originally produced and mixed by Vig.

Novoselic is also leading a Nevermind tribute show on September 20 in Seattle. The bassist will be one of the artists to perform the full record and will be joined by bands like the Fastbacks, the Long Winters, Visqueen, Campire OK, Valis (featuring members of Screaming Trees), and others to be announced soon.
