A musical collaboration between Marilyn Manson and Johnny Depp is strange enough, but what's really bizarre is the song the always-dramatic rocker and Hollywood legend have elected to perform together: Carly Simon's "You're So Vain." The Manson/Depp cover will appear on Manson's next album Born Villain, due out May 1. "You're So Vain" might seem like an unlikely choice for Manson, but he's proven capable of dissecting and reinterpreting a radio-friendly hit in his own, unique style, like how he transformed Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams" into the foreboding, nightmarish grind that's still used in horror movie commercials to this day.

Manson and Depp might seem like an unlikely duo, but Marilyn is a stalwart of the Hollywood scene, and he's attended red carpet premieres for Depp films a few times — he's been there for The Rum Diary, Pirates of the Caribbean and From Hell — so the two seem like more than just acquaintances who see each other infrequently at the Chateau Marmont. The Huffington Post notes that Manson also contributed a remix of his "The Nobodies" to the From Hell soundtrack.

Manson joins an eclectic list of musicians who've teamed with Depp, who was in a band called the Kids while growing up in Florida. The rundown includes Oasis, Eddie Vedder, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, and the band P, which featured Butthole Surfers' Gibby Haynes and Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea.
