Hear A$AP Rocky Get Sensitive on Jessie Ware’s ‘Wildest Moments’ Remix

Jessie Ware ASAP Rocky Wildest Moments Remix Devotion Reissue

Jessie Ware’s Devotion was handily one of SPIN’s Best Albums of 2012, a leader in the emerging trend of Alt-R&B (U.K. post-dubstep subdivision) — basically, it’s so nice that it’s worth doing twice and the British singer’s record label knows it. On April 16, Interscope/Cherrytree will give the LP a proper North American release (The Gold Edition overseas), which will include four bonus tracks. Last week, we heard Ware’s new Julio Bashmore-produced thumper, “Imagine it Was Us.” Sampha collaboration “Valentine” and Disclosure’s excellent remix of “Running” have been in circulation for a bit, but the new version of “Wildest Moments” featuring Harlem star A$AP Rocky has remained a mystery until now.

Streaming below, the remix of that Devotion standout finds the MC in surprisingly sensitive form, echoing the song’s story of two lovers who keep trying to make it work despite some tough odds. “Her love is like a fortress, enormous,” he declares. Then later: “Practice makes perfect, so we fighting for a purpose.” A few more bars from Rocky would’ve been nice, but it’s a solid reminder nonetheless of why Ware’s wares deserve to sell big over hear as well as abroad.
