In just a couple of weeks, Jenny Lewis will release her third solo LP, The Voyager, and today she's shared the levelheaded title track from that record. Similar to "Just One of the Guys," "The Voyager" finds the Los Angeles singer-songwriter using a sunny disposition to undercut the track's exploration of sorrow. The ex-Rilo Kiley singer, aided by Ryan Adams' production, employs a haze of acoustic instrumentation and smoky vocals to offset the themes of insomnia and loss she described to SPIN in a recent interview, but it's there in the lyrics. Grief can hit you just as it hit her, unexpectedly, maybe even, "At a 7-11 / Flipping through The New York Times." The Voyager is out July 29 on Warner Bros.
