Jenny Lewis, a lively musical renaissance lady -- Rilo Kiley frontwoman, solo songstress, Postal Service mouthpiece, and prized collaborator -- has been acknowledged for her accomplishments and crowned "Pioneer Woman" by the Los Angeles City Council. The award, presented every year by the Commission on the Status of Women and the L.A. City Council to one woman from each of the city's 15 council districts, was presented to Lewis due to her "global success and critical celebration" that have "helped place the Silver Lake and Echo Park musical scenes on the leading edge of 21st-century song." During a ceremony March 30, Lewis, who was presented her new title from board president Eric Garcetti, dedicated the honor to "to all of my neighbors who, for all these years put up with the musical racket coming from my tiny apartment in Silver Lake."

Fans hungry for a taste of the Pioneer Woman's sweet voice can pick up Dntel's forthcoming LP Dumb Luck (out April 24), which features vocals courtesy of Ms. Lewis, or patiently await for Rilo Kiley's follow up to 2004's More Adventurous and Postal Service's currently in-the-works second record.
