Jay Z’s Drake Beef Reaches Bourgie New Heights on DJ Khaled Track

Jay Z, Drake

If Jay Z and Drake are engaged in a war of words, it’s no longer just a food fight. But it’s still pretty entertainingly ridiculous. Just about a week ago, incoming ESPYs host Drake said on TV during a Toronto Raptors-Brooklyn Nets game that Mr. Carter-Knowles was probably “somewhere eating a fondue plate.” In new DJ Khaled track “They Don’t Love You No More,” the Magna Carta Holy Grail rapper lets it rip in a way we haven’t heard as much from him lately. After a brilliantly succint endorsement of the NBA over college basketball, he leads into what he had to know would be taken as a Drake dis: “Wrong sport, boy, you know you’re soft as a lacrosse team.” The lurching, gothic bombast is otherwise what Florida’s Khaled has become known for over the years, and verses from Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and French Montana frame Jay’s barrage. But let’s not lose sight of the important fact here: When it comes to hip-hop feuds, we’ve gone from fondue to lacrosse.
