Jamie xx Awakens From Slumber With 'Girls'

New track is flip side of English producer's last single, 'Sleep Sounds'

In late March, Jamie xx released "Sleep Sounds," an ephemeral track that might make, say, the perfect background music for a Salvador Dalí dreamscape. The song eventually lent itself to an in-depth music video, in which dancers from the Manchester Deaf Centre in the U.K. created movement inspired by the sound's physical vibrations. Now, the xx producer/percussionist returns with "Girls," a comparitively upbeat track that complements "Sleep Sounds," both musically and structurally. The single will be available May 5 on a double A-side 12-inch out May 7 via Young Turks. Watch the Tetris blocks bounce to the beat in the video above.
