James Murphy's forthcoming short film for Canon’s Project Imaginat10n campaign is still in the works, but the former LCD Soundsystem leader has shared some new details on the visual effort.

Pitchfork points out that the piece is titled Little Duck and follows "a young man pulled from his life in Manhattan back to his home in rural Japan when his estranged brother runs into trouble." The film stars Japanese actor Kaneko Nobuaki and will premiere during the Project Imaginat10n Film Festival in the fall. Murphy shot much of the feature in Japan, but will lens some additional scenes in his adopted home of New York in May.

As SPIN previously reported, the short is part of a collaboration with Hollywood legend Ron Howard; Murphy and four other "celebrity directors" — Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx, designer Georgina Chapman, and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone — have been drafted by the Happy Days alum to create a series of films based on photographs taken by Canon customers. From a pool of 91 photos, the five nascent auteurs each chose 10 images that inspired them to get behind the camera.

Take a peek at the stills Murphy selected here, and watch him talk about the photos down below.
