Jack White, the completely qualified ambassador for this year's Record Store Day (April 20), has sanctioned a remastered double-vinyl reissue of the White Stripes' outstanding fourth album, Elephant (via Consequence of Sound). In conjunction with the annual analog celebration, SPIN's 2003 Album of the Year will be re-pressed on two different colored LPs — record No. 1 will be red and black, No. 2 will come in white — just in time for Elephant's tenth birthday (April 1). A standard black vinyl reissue will arrive later this year.

Warner Bros. Records has also unveiled its slate of Record Store Day exclusives. Among the goodies:

  • "No Fun," a split 7-inch from the Black Keys and Iggy and the Stooges featuring the Stooges' 1969 cut "No Fun" and the Keys' 2002 cover version. The collaboration will be pressed on red and orange vinyl and limited to 7,000 copies.
  • The Flaming Lips are reissuing their incredibly difficult (but incredibly rewarding) 1997 album Zaireeka as a limited-edition 4xLP 12-inch vinyl set.
  • Guitar gods Built to Spill will reissue their 2000 live album — the aptly titled Live — as a limited-edition 2xLP vinyl and deluxe edition CD, limited to 2,500 copies.
  • Deftones will put out the first entry in their career-spanning live vinyl set, focusing on live recordings of songs from their debut album, Adrenaline, that date back to 1996.
  • Iron & Wine will release a 7-inch containing two exclusive tracks — "Next to Paradise" and "Dirty Ocean" — that will be limited to 3,300 pressings.
  • Gary Clark, Jr. is dropping "HWUL Raw Cuts Vol. 2," a 12-inch that boasts live and analog recordings of "When My Train Pulls In," which will be limited to 1,000 copies.

All of this is icing on the cake, of course, since we've already found out about Record Store Day's official poster, film selection, and several other upcoming exclusives.
