Jack White and Q-Tip Bring the Blues to A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘Excursions’ in New York

As if a sold out show at Madison Square Garden with Run the Jewels opening wasn’t enough to make Jack White’s Friday night tour stop in New York a little out of the ordinary, he also had another big trick up his sleeve in the form of A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip. In the midst of his performance of the Lazaretto standout “The Black Bat Licorice,” the legendary rapper came out on stage to finish out the track before launching into a bluesy full-band rendition of the Tribe’s own Low End Theory track “Excursions.”

Not to be outdone by the headlining act, Run the Jewels had a guest rapper of their own earlier in the evening, enlisting Zach De La Rocha of Rage Against the Machine to perform on the Run the Jewels 2 cut “Close Your Eyes (and Count to Fuck).” You can catch that performance below, and the Q-Tip/Jack White performance up above.
